Samantha M.

Samantha M. is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communications, public relations, and marketing. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Communications for Advancement at The University of Southern Mississippi since May 2024, Samantha leads a team focused on communication services for the Alumni Association and the USM Foundation. Prior to this role, Samantha was the Chief Communications Officer for the City of Hattiesburg from July 2017 to May 2024, managing various communication activities and serving as a communications advisor to the mayor. Additional positions include Owner of McAlexander Creative + Consulting, Adjunct Instructor at The University of Southern Mississippi, and Communications Coordinator at The Children's Center for Communication and Development. Samantha holds a Master of Science in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from The University of Southern Mississippi.
