Douglas Kearney, a graduate of the University of Stirling, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and has spent his career in the investment and financial sectors. Shortly after qualifying as a member of ICAS, Douglas joined the Scottish Development Agency’s venture capital business. From there he moved to Charterhouse Development Capital, one of the UK’s major private equity companies. Following the sale of Charterhouse, Douglas helped establish a private equity business for RBS and was a founding Director of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s private equity business.
Since leaving RBS at the start of the millennium, Douglas has worked in investment management in both the quoted and unquoted sectors focusing on emerging markets and is now actively involved in running pension portfolios for a leading UK specialist pension adviser, whilst overseeing financial, legal and operational activities.
