Michael Roy

Michael Roy is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of social enterprise and economic sociology. Currently serving as Associate Dean of Research and Professor at the University of Stirling since January 2024, Michael has also held the position of Chair at the Development Trusts Association Scotland since September 2022, where strategic leadership is provided to support socio-economic development. As Editor in Chief of the Social Enterprise Journal since January 2020, Michael leads the longest established academic journal focused on social enterprise. Previously, a Professor at Glasgow Caledonian University from January 2014 to December 2023, Michael holds a PhD in Economic Sociology and Social Policy, as well as a Master's in Social Research and a Bachelor's in Social Sciences.
