Nir Shimony

Nir Shimony is a highly qualified pediatric neurosurgeon and academic, currently serving at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, Baptist Memorial Health Care, and Semmes Murphey Clinic since July 2022. In addition to clinical roles, Nir Shimony holds the position of Associate Professor and was previously an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Nir Shimony has also maintained an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine since October 2016, while concurrently engaged in pediatric neurosurgery research fellowships at Johns Hopkins Medicine and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Education includes a Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship from The Johns Hopkins University and an M.D. from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Science from the same institution. Prior roles include Director of Pediatric and Epilepsy Neurosurgery at Geisinger and various research positions, demonstrating a comprehensive commitment to both clinical practice and medical education.
