Anna Furches

Anna Furches is a PhD Research Fellow at The Bredesen Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Education at the University of Tennessee, focusing on Computational & Systems Biology at ORNL. Anna's dissertation research investigates how genomic structural variants and other omics data influence growth and development in the biofuel crop species Populus trichocarpa. Additionally, Anna serves as a Scientific Adviser and Lead Scientific Consultant at Assured Bio Labs, where responsibilities include ecological data analysis and overseeing daily lab operations. With significant expertise in genetic and microbiology methodologies, Anna has held various roles including Interim Lab Manager, Quality Assurance Officer, and Lead Scientist at Assured Bio Labs, alongside a background in genetic engineering and ecological research at institutions such as Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Lincoln Memorial University. Anna holds an M.S. in Evolutionary Biology and a B.S. in Plant Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
