Fred Wang

Fred Wang is a Professor and Condra Chair of Excellence in Power Electronics at the University of Tennessee, where Fred has served since August 2009, also holding the position of Technical Director of CURENT. Prior to this role, Fred Wang was an Associate Professor and CPES Technical Director at Virginia Tech from November 2001 to July 2009. Fred Wang's early career included positions at GE from August 1992 to October 2001, where Fred Wang worked as an application engineer, senior product design engineer, and lab manager. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Southern California, obtained between 1984 and 1990, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, completed from 1978 to 1982.
