Douglas Gilpin

Douglas Gilpin, PE, CEFP, serves as the Director of Construction Operations and Associate Director of Construction Services at The University of Texas at Austin, overseeing the in-house construction and renovation program within a division that includes seven specialty trade shops and project management teams. Prior experience includes a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, where Douglas held various leadership positions, including Director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection for the 5th Air Force in Japan, and multiple director and commander roles within civil engineering and public works. Douglas has also contributed to the US Army Corps of Engineers and served in various capacities within the Air Force from 1993 to 2019. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Military Arts and Science from the USAF Air Command and Staff College, a Master of Science in Engineering and Environmental Management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy.
