Lars Hagen

Lars Hagen serves as the Assistant General Counsel in the Office of General Counsel for The University of Texas System, providing legal counsel to a vast network of 13 institutions with over 200,000 students since February 2014. Appointed as Senior Attorney in September 2015 and later as Assistant General Counsel in September 2017, Lars has extensive litigation experience, having previously worked as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Texas Attorney General from December 2003 to February 2014, where involvement in all phases of civil cases in state and federal courts included successful jury trials and oral arguments. Earlier, Lars practiced as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Missouri Attorney General from 1999 to 2003. Lars Hagen earned a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas School of Law from 1996 to 1999 and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1989 to 1994.
