Paul Shanahan is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in governance and legal counsel. Currently serving as the Director, Governance and General Counsel at The University of Western Australia since August 2019, Paul was previously on secondment from Clayton Utz in the same role. Additionally, Paul is a Member of the Liquor Commission of Western Australia and the Youth Legal Service Board, both since 2018. Paul’s legal career spans several prominent positions, including Special Counsel at Clayton Utz, Principal Solicitor at the Australian Government Solicitor, and Senior Associate at Phillips Fox. Paul holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from The University of Western Australia, as well as a TAE from Aquinas College WA.
