Pham N. Bang is an established academic and researcher currently serving as an Honorary Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow at The University of Wollongong since October 2018. Previously, Pham held the position of Head of the Population Health and Demography Unit at the Papua New Guinea Institute of Medical Research from October 2013 to May 2022, where significant achievements included the creation and management of essential health surveillance systems and the publication of multiple research articles addressing public health issues in Papua New Guinea. Other roles include Research Fellow at James Cook University, Post-doctoral Research Fellow at The University of Queensland, and various positions within the United Nations and CARE International focusing on population health and development. Pham's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Population Health and a Master's in Tropical Health, alongside medical training and a Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration.
