Imtiaz Patel

Imtiaz Patel has a strong background in executive leadership and consulting. Imtiaz'smost recent role is as the Chief Executive Officer of The Baltimore Banner since July 2021. Imtiaz has also served as the Chief Executive Officer of The Venetoulis Institute for Local Journalism since July 2021, where they are responsible for developing a sustainable model for local news and launching a multi-platform news publication in Q2 2022.

Prior to these positions, Patel worked as a Managing Consultant at Accelerated Growth Solutions from December 2017 to June 2021. Imtiaz played a key role in enabling growth through strategy development and business transformation, focusing on industries such as Media and Retail.

Imtiaz Patel has also served as an Advisory Board member for Rightamin from January 2019 to July 2020 and the Rutgers Center for Innovation Education from May 2017 to December 2018.

Before transitioning into consulting, Patel held leadership roles in the corporate sector. Imtiaz was the President of IQ Workforce from April 2015 to December 2017, where they grew the business significantly and introduced new capabilities to support growth. Prior to that, they served as the VP of Strategy and Business Development at The Children's Place, where they were responsible for driving new growth initiatives and international expansion.

Patel's career also includes positions at Dow Jones & Company, where they served as the VP of Global Strategy & Operations from February 2010 to June 2012, and as the VP of Group Sales & Strategy (General Manager) from June 2008 to January 2010. In these roles, they led global strategy and operations teams, restructured sales teams, and turned around businesses to achieve profitability.

Additionally, Patel has experience in academia as an Adjunct Professor at Baruch College in 2015, and they launched their own consulting business, IQ Strategy Associates, in 2014, which later merged into IQ Workforce.

Imtiaz Patel pursued their BSc degree from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) between 1986 and 1989. Imtiaz'sfield of study during this period was Economics, Accounting & Finance. Later, in 1994 and 1995, they attended Columbia Business School, where they obtained an MBA degree.
