Kristin Burhop

SVP of Public Policy and Legislative Affairs at The Virginia Chamber of Commerce

Kristin joined the Chamber in January 2020 and brings with her over two decades of experience in government, public policy and communications. She works collaboratively with the Chamber’s policy and communications teams to advocate for pro-business policies.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Kristin served on the staff of seven cabinet Secretaries of Health and Human Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Her areas of responsibility spanning the administrations included legislation, budget, regulations, policy oversight, grant management, and constituent affairs. She served a dual role at the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) working on long-term services and supports policies, including the Commonwealth Coordinated Care program. Kristin previously worked for the Michigan Senate Majority Communications Office.

Kristin has a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from Regent University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. She is also a graduate of the Virginia Executive Institute.
