Po-Yu Chou

Po-Yu Chou is a Software Engineer at The Voleon Group, a machine-learning-driven quantitative hedge fund in the Bay Area since August 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Assistant in Communication Algorithms at Academia Sinica in Taiwan from July 2018 to February 2021, where Po-Yu proposed an iterative sub-gradient algorithm that improved performance by 38% over a popular caching strategy and maximized average quality of experience using convex optimization methods. Po-Yu holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley (2021-2022) and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University (2016-2020), along with a summer exchange program experience in Integrated Sciences at The University of British Columbia in 2017.
