Emma Brown

Editor, Rapid-response Investigations at The Washington Post

Emma Brown has extensive experience in journalism, currently serving as an Editor for rapid-response investigations at The Washington Post since June 2009, following roles as Deputy Editor and Reporter. Prior to this, Emma gained experience as an Intern/Associate Producer at the Center for Investigative Reporting and an Intern at The Boston Globe. Emma started in journalism as a Reporter for the Alaska Budget Report and as an Intern at High Country News. Additionally, Emma spent several years as a 7th-grade teacher in the Juneau School District and worked as a Wilderness Ranger for the USDA Forest Service. Emma holds a Master of Journalism degree from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Alaska Southeast and a bachelor's degree from Stanford University.
