Karen Wang is a skilled software engineer with extensive experience in data-driven journalism and technology. Currently, Karen works at The Washington Post in the Data/AI division, focusing on software systems for personalized content experiences. Previous roles include serving as a Research Engineer and Data Reporting Fellow at the Brown Institute for Media Innovation, where Karen handled large datasets and collaborated with local newsrooms. Earlier experience also includes positions at KPCC/LAist, McClatchy, and BuzzFeed, where Karen developed tools and conducted investigative reporting that uncovered critical societal issues.
