Deborah Jaffe has over 30 years of experience as a freelance photographer, creative director, and artist. Deborah has worked with various magazines, agencies, catalogues, and clients, covering a wide range of subjects including lifestyle, portraits, home and garden, products, photojournalism, still life, food, fashion, and travel. Their work has taken their to locations such as the White House and Saigon, and they have photographed a variety of subjects, from convicted killers in prisons to celebrities like Chris Rock. Deborah Jaffe started their career in New York City in 1988 and has since worked for publications such as ELLE, Southern Living Magazine, Washingtonian Magazine, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, The Huffington Post, The Washington Post, HGTV Network, and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Deborah also served as a Creative Director and Photographer for Julie Simon Cakes.
Deborah Jaffe's education history includes multiple institutions and fields of study. Deborah attended Carnegie Mellon University from 1983 to 1987, where they pursued a degree in Painting & Drawing. After that, they enrolled at the Washington Studio School in 2011 for figure drawing and painting. Deborah also attended Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 1985-1986 to explore cooking and related culinary arts. In the same year, they simultaneously studied Painting & Drawing for a year at both Parsons School of Design - The New School and The American University of Paris. Prior to their college education, they obtained a high school diploma in Painting from Walt Whitman High School, which they attended from 1979 to 1983. Furthermore, Deborah pursued further education in Painting and Drawing at the New York Studio School starting in 1998.
