Dr. Ginger Blackstone

Dr. Ginger Blackstone has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Dr. Ginger has worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas since 2023. Prior to that, they held the role of Copy Editor at CNN Newsource in 2022. From 2021, they worked as a Freelance TV Producer/Writer/Video Editor at The Weather Channel.

Before their current positions, Dr. Blackstone had a long tenure at Harding University, where they held multiple roles such as Associate Professor, HU16 News Director, Assistant Professor, HU16 News Director, and Instructor, HU16 News Director. Dr. Ginger also started as an Adjunct Instructor and worked there from 2009 to 2023.

Dr. Blackstone also briefly worked at the United Way of White County in 2019 as an Executive Producer for a fundraising video. Dr. Ginger has teaching experience as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they were a PhD Student, Graduate Assistant, and Instructor of Record at the same institution from 2013 to 2016.

In addition to their academic and teaching roles, Dr. Blackstone has worked as a Documentary Producer and Writer for the CENTER FOR CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING INC between 2012 and 2013, and as a Freelance Show Producer for THV 11 from 2011 to 2012. Dr. Ginger also worked as a Newscast Producer for THV 11 and as a Supervising/Executive Producer, Supervising Producer, Coordinating Producer, and Newscast Producer at CNN between 1996 and 2009.

Dr. Ginger Blackstone completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting from Harding University, where they studied from 1986 to 1991. Dr. Ginger then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Journalism at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from 2010 to 2011. Dr. Blackstone furthered their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mass Communication/Telecommunication from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, studying from 2013 to 2016.
