Gary Hood

Sr. Manager, Graphics System Engineering at The Weather Channel

Gary Hood has extensive work experience in the graphics engineering field, with a focus on roles within the broadcast and broadcast media industries. Gary started their career as a Graphics Operator at KTVU in 1999, followed by a position as a Lead Broadcast Graphics Operator at KPIX CBS5 from 1999 to 2001. From there, they joined ESPN as a Graphics Developer 2 from 2001 to 2008. Gary then moved to The Weather Channel, where they held the position of Sr. Graphics Engineer from 2008 to 2016. Gary was later promoted to Sr. Manager, Graphics System Engineering at the same company, where they led and supervised the Graphics Engineering team. Gary's work involved managing everyday tasks such as planning, budgeting, and tracking graphics software support, installation, and management.

Gary Hood earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Gary attended the university from 1994 to 1998. In addition to their formal education, Gary obtained a certification in Unreal Essential Training from LinkedIn in December 2021.
