Douglas Watson

Douglas Watson, PhD, serves as the WARC Program Manager at The Weir Group PLC since February 2017, leading advanced research initiatives. Prior experience includes a notable tenure at Jaguar Land Rover as Senior Lead Research Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed technology strategy and establishing collaborative partnerships for innovation development. Douglas also held positions as Process Engineer and Manufacturing Manager at BJ Tooling Limited, focusing on project management and production scheduling. Earlier in career, Douglas supported growth at Coventry University through the Teaching Company Associate role. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Engineering from Brunel University and a B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering with Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland.
