Deputy Head Of Science And Head Of Biology at The White Horse Federation

Julie Jones has extensive work experience in the field of education. Julie began their career as a Trainee Manager at Odeon & UCI Cinemas in 1996. Julie then transitioned to the education sector, working as a Secondary Science Teacher at Rush Croft Sports College from 1998 to 1999. Julie then joined Matravers School, where they served as a Secondary Science Teacher and later became the Deputy Head of Science from 1999 to 2002.

In 2002, Julie joined Devizes School, where they held various roles including Head of Biology, Secondary Biology Teacher, and ITT & NQT Co-ordinator. As the ITT & NQT Co-ordinator, they assessed and supported the development of trainee teachers at Devizes School and served as a Professional Mentor for Bath Spa and NWSCITT Trainee teachers. Julie remained at Devizes School until 2021.

In 2015, Julie also worked at North Wiltshire SCITT as the Subject Lead for Science from 2015 to 2017.

Currently, Julie is employed at The White Horse Federation as the Deputy Head Of Science and Head of Biology, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Science/Biology Teacher at the same organization from 2017 to 2021.

Julie Jones attended UCL from 1993 to 1996, where they pursued a degree in Anatomy & Developmental Biology with a focus on Cell/Cellular Biology and Anatomical Sciences. Following that, they enrolled at the University of Southampton in 1997 and completed their PGCE in Secondary Science in 1998. Their field of study during this time was Secondary Education and Teaching.
