Axie Navas

Axie Navas is a seasoned professional in outdoor recreation and digital editorial leadership, currently serving in a national campaign role at The Wilderness Society since December 2022. Previously, Navas was the founding director of the Outdoor Recreation Division for the New Mexico State Government, where contributions under Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's administration focused on promoting sustainable outdoor recreation for the state's residents. Navas has an extensive editorial background, having held various roles at Outside Magazine from 2014 to 2019, including Digital Editorial Director and Executive Editor, along with experience managing a team at Blister Gear Review as Managing Editor. Early career highlights include reporting for Tahoe Daily Tribune and contributing to VeloNews, alongside founding Collegiate Cycling News while at Northwestern University, where Navas earned a degree in Journalism and Spanish.
