Marco de Leon

Deputy Vice President, External Affairs at The Wilderness Society

Marco De Leon currently serves as the Deputy Vice President of External Affairs and Senior Director of Advocacy Communications at The Wilderness Society, where efforts focus on building a diverse movement to advocate for public lands. Previously, Marco held the position of Chief of Public Affairs for the National Park Service's Intermountain Region, overseeing a team that supported 85 parks. Additional experience includes leadership roles in government affairs at the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, legislative assistance within the United States Senate, and a public policy fellowship at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. Marco holds a Master in Public Affairs from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University, along with credentials from Harvard Business School Online and a Corporate Communication Certificate from Cornell University.
