Megan Birzell is an accomplished professional in conservation and environmental management, currently serving as the Acting Senior Director for the Pacific Region at The Wilderness Society, a position held since November 2010. Throughout a career marked by progressive leadership roles, Megan has also been Washington State Director, National Forests Campaign Manager, Northwest Forests Campaign Manager, and held several specialist positions within the organization. Prior to joining The Wilderness Society, experience includes serving as the Project and Development Administrator at Clearwater Resource Council and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Northern Arizona University. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Forestry from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management from the University of Montana. Early education was completed at Cascia Hall Preparatory School.
