Spencer Crooks

Spencer Crooks is currently a Doctoral Intern at John Muir Health, a position held since September 2022, while also pursuing doctoral studies at The Wright Institute since August 2017. Prior to these roles, Crooks served as the Account Management Lead and in Square Support at Square from February 2011 to August 2017. Earlier experience includes being a Senior Writer, Photographer, and Editor at The Owl Mag from January 2010 to January 2012, where responsibilities encompassed writing concert and album reviews, as well as attending editorial meetings. Crooks also held various positions at YouTube from January 2006 to January 2010, including Sr. Associate in Corporate Communications and Marketing Coordinator, focusing on media relations, press releases, and marketing campaigns. Additional experience includes a brief role as a Writer for the Noise Pop Music Festival in early 2006. Crooks holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Cinema Studies, and Gender Studies from California State University, Chico, awarded between 2002 and 2005.
