Shantez Marie Tolbut

Shantez Marie Tolbut, MFA, is a multifaceted professional in the fields of writing, education, and theatre. Currently serving as Summer Writing Faculty for Thrive Scholars and a Contributing Writer for Theatre Communications Group, Shantez focuses on enhancing the skills of gifted students and exploring contemporary theatrical events. With significant experience as an Off-Broadway Production Stage Manager and Performance Artist for Shae Marie LLC, Shantez has played a key role in various theatrical productions. As the Founder of Black Stage Everything, a queer black woman-owned theatre network, Shantez aims to support and empower the black theatre maker community. Previous roles include Director of Programs at CO/LAB Theater Group and Expanded Learning Program Leader/Theatre Teacher at Libertas College Preparatory Charter School. Shantez holds multiple advanced degrees in Creative Writing and Performance Studies, showcasing a strong educational background in the arts and humanities.
