3d Artist at The Mill

Katie Bates has a diverse range of work experience. Katie worked at The Mill from 2018, starting as a 3D Artist/Runner, and later transitioning to a 3D Artist role in October 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Visual Effects (VFX) Artist at KatieVFX since 2013. In this role, they created visual effects sequences for film and television, working on projects such as the Disney teen drama 'Find Me in Paris' and CBBC show 'The 4 O'Clock Club'. Katie also served as the VFX supervisor and lead artist for music videos by Architects and Bullet for my Valentine. Katie briefly worked at Blue-Zoo Animation Studio as a 3D Artist in September 2018. Additionally, Katie gained experience as a Freelance VFX Generalist at Space Digital Limited for one month in 2018 and as a Freelance Visual Effects Artist from August 2016 to June 2017, where they worked on projects such as the BBC drama 'Paranoid' and 'Coronation Street'. Prior to their VFX roles, they worked as a Business Manager and Designer at Kate's Corner from 2012 to 2013, where they designed educational images and handled the management of an eBay store. Katie also worked as an Office Assistant at Pen-Y-Maes Health Centre during the same period.

Katie Bates completed their high school education at Abbey Gate College from 1999 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science at The University of Manchester, graduating in 2012. In 2013, Katie enrolled at Futureworks to study 3D Visual Effects, which they completed in 2016.
