CG Lead at The Mill

Rafael Ghencev has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of CG (Computer Graphics), directing, and filmmaking. Rafael started their career as a 3D artist at Vetor Zero in 2007 before moving on to work as an instructor at ICS - School of art and 3D from 2010 to 2012. Rafael then founded their own online school called Mind Travel 3D, where they taught and mentored students in the field of CG from 2012 to 2015.

In parallel with their teaching career, Ghencev worked as a freelance director and filmmaker, directing short films, music videos, and working as a photographer and camera operator. Rafael also provided their services as a freelance character artist and 3D artist for various clients and production companies. Notably, they worked on projects for big brands like Coca Cola, Nestle, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, and P&G.

Their professional journey led him to work as a creative director and CG supervisor at Techno Image from 2017 to 2019. Rafael Ghencev has a diverse education history in the field of Filmmaking and related areas. In 2006-2007, they pursued a degree in Animation at MELIES | Escola de Cinema 3D e Animação. In 2012, they attended Inspiratorium to study Filmmaking, specifically film production and film critic. The following year, in 2013, Rafael enrolled in Academia Internacional de Cinema to specialize in Cinematography, focusing on becoming a Director of Photography. Continuing their education in the film industry, they attended UniCesumar from 2013 to 2015 to pursue a degree in Marketing, with a particular emphasis on marketing within the film industry. In 2014, Rafael participated in several workshops to further enhance their skills. Rafael attended the New York Film Academy to study Filmmaking, specifically in the area of Filmmaking. Additionally, they completed a workshop on Lighting for film at Shane Hurlbut's Illumination Workshop and another workshop on Camera movement for directors at Vincent Laforet's Directing Motion.
