Carel van Randwyck

Carel van Randwyck has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Carel is currently serving as the Chief Growth Officer & Head of Impact at Themis, a startup FinTech company, where they are responsible for marketing and sales, managing client relationships, developing an ESG risk diagnostic tool, and training sales personnel. In addition, Carel is actively engaged as a speaker and moderator on various ESG and anti-financial crime events and webinars. Prior to their current role, they worked as the Interim CFO & COO at a Private Equity Firm and served as a Senior Advisor to the Chairman at a Venture Capital firm. Before that, Carel held the position of Head of Change Management, Group Sales at Deutsche Börse from 2016 to 2018. Carel also worked at National Bank of Abu Dhabi as the Group Finance Chief Administration Officer and later as the Global Head of Strategic Planning & Business Development - Global Banking. Carel's extensive experience also includes a long tenure at UBS Investment Bank, where they held various Managing Director roles in Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and Commodities Sales, as well as Fixed Income and FX Emerging Markets trading. During their time at UBS, they were responsible for developing strategy, implementing governance and controls, managing operational costs and projects, and leading key initiatives for bank, sovereign, and insurance company clients. Carel also worked at Price Waterhouse as a Senior Consultant in Treasury Management Consulting and later as a Manager. Carel began their career as an Audit Senior at Arthur Young & Co.

Carel van Randwyck's education history includes a range of certifications and degrees. In 1982, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Business Studies from the Polytechnic of Central London. In the same year, they also received a certification in Spanish from the Chartered Institute of Linguists. In 1996, they earned a postgraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Additionally, they obtained the ACA degree from ICAEW and the FCT degree from the Chartered Association of Corporate Treasurers in the same year. In 2020, they completed a certificate program in the Principles of Sustainable Finance from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Furthermore, in 2020, they also received a certificate in driving business towards the Sustainable Development Goals from the same university. Finally, in 2021, they obtained the Level 4 Certificate in ESG Investing from CFA UK. Carel van Randwyck has additionally obtained a certificate in ESG Investing from CFA UK and is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
