Michael Andrews

Researcher at Theorem

Michael Andrews is an experienced researcher specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in financial and scientific domains. Currently serving as a researcher at Theorem since July 2022, Michael leads efforts to enhance loan underwriting models for significant consumer loan portfolios, focusing on adapting to macroeconomic changes. Prior to this role, Michael was a postdoctoral researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, where the DeepSNR model was developed for detecting gravitational waves. Additionally, experience at CERN encompasses the creation of an AI/ML system for high-energy particle detection, a pioneering role as a run coordinator during the Higgs boson discovery, and contributions to software for anomaly detection in LHC detectors. Michael holds a PhD in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s degree from Ateneo de Manila University.
