Julia Smith

Julia Smith has a diverse work experience in the fields of medical writing, research and animal care. Julia began their career as an Animal Keeper at Bergen County Zoo, where they worked alongside senior keepers, prepared animal diets, recorded animal activities, and created animal enrichment. Julia then worked as a Research Technician at Charles River Laboratories, where they planned and executed various studies involving research models such as rodents, guinea pigs, zebrafish, and rabbits. Julia also implemented communication systems and ensured compliance with SOP and GLP processes. Following that, Julia joined Bristol Myers Squibb as an Associate Research Scientist, supporting multiple biopharmaceutical programs related to Liver Fibrosis. In this role, they provided technical assistance, conducted data collection and analysis, and presented findings to supervisors and program teams. Julia was subsequently promoted to Senior Research Scientist at Bristol Myers Squibb, leading and supporting exploratory programs focused on Idiopathic Pulmonary fibrosis and NASH. Their responsibilities included validating and developing animal models through surgeries and conducting dose response and efficacy studies. Currently, Julia is working as a Medical Writer at Theradex Oncology.

Julia Smith obtained their High School Diploma from Pascack Hills Highschool from 2006 to 2010. Julia then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Zoology/Animal Biology at Delaware Valley University from 2010 to 2013.
