Julia Turpin

Psychotherapist at Therapy Matters

Julia believes that everyone should have the opportunity to heal and that healing can best be accomplished when the mind and body are willing to listen to each other. Julia's role as therapist is to help support clients as they navigate their healing journey and reconnect to parts of themselves. Julia strives to create an environment for her clients that feels caring and supportive, welcoming all emotions and experiences into the space. Julia brings with her experience in mindfulness based transpersonal counseling, somatic dance movement therapy, meditation, yoga, Jung, and Gestalt. She hopes to continue her studies in cannabinoid assistance and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) to eventually be able to provide these for clients as well.

Julia hopes, as a therapist, to work with clients to better themselves at the pace they feel ready to work at. She hopes to establish trust and guide with compassion and support throughout her session. Julia is a clinical intern completing her MA in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling. In her counseling work, she offers client-centered approaches, tailoring to each clients individual needs while valuing the structure some modalities can provide. Julia prefers to use modalities such as gestalt, motivational interviewing, expressive artistic therapies, somatic approaches, trauma-informed approaches, mindfulness approaches, and dreamwork when appropriate.
