Darren McClure

Darren McClure has a strong background in User Experience (UX) design and management. Darren is currently working as a UX Design Manager at theScore since April 2023. Prior to this, they were a User Experience Manager at Sonnet Insurance Company from August 2022 to March 2023.

Darren's work experience also includes the role of Senior UX Designer at The Co-operators from July 2021 to August 2022, where they established design standards, UX patterns, and led the development of the company's first design system. Darren introduced UX process and workflow improvements for Agile projects and provided coaching and mentoring to other designers.

Before joining The Co-operators, Darren worked as a Senior UX Designer at Canada Life from February 2017 to July 2021. During their time there, they introduced design op/workflow processes and played a lead role in design delivery, mentorship, and unified corporate design standards. Darren also contributed to design strategy, wireframes, interactive prototypes, visual designs, and user testing initiatives.

Darren's career in UX design started at London Life/Great-West Lifeco Inc in 2012, where they initially served as a Digital Marketing Designer/Developer. Darren later transitioned to the role of Senior Interaction Designer and UX Architect. In this position, they managed project expectations, delivered information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and played a pivotal role in shaping the UX function for the company.

Before entering the industry, Darren worked as a Multimedia Coordinator at McMaster University from 2010 to 2011.

Darren McClure holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from McMaster University. Darren completed a combined degree program in Multimedia & Communication Studies. No specific start or end year for their education is available.
