Jon Williams

Jon Williams has worked in the software engineering and development field since 2010. Jon began their career as a Freelance Web Developer in 2010, then worked as a Developer for SeatGeek. In 2011, they worked as a Software Engineer for Xceedium, where they maintained and enhanced a Linux appliance and designed and extended clustering. In 2012, they worked as a Senior Developer for Hollywood.com, where they developed a site and CMS using Symfony2 PHP framework, Doctrine PHP ORM, jQuery Javascript framework, and more. In 2013, they worked as a Development Team Lead for Money-Media, where they architected a cross-publication Single Sign On using OAuth2. In 2016, they worked as a Consultant and Director of Engineering for Bandwagon Taxishare, where they managed existing systems architecture and developed a RESTful services layer in Ruby on Rails. In 2018, they worked as a Senior Backend Engineer / Backend Team Lead for StockTwits, where they designed and implemented a high performance pub/sub realtime stock quotes service. Jon also worked as a Co-Founder for Pulsum Quadratum, where they designed and implemented novel audio software techniques in C++. In 2020, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer for iStreamPlanet, where they did developer and operations work on Dash & HLS video streaming infrastructure. Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Principal Software Engineer for Theta Lake.

Jon Williams attended the University of Rochester from 2000 to 2005, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Cognitive Science, and Media Studies.
