Janelle Jenkins

Janelle Jenkins has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Janelle is currently serving as the Chief of Staff at thinkLaw since February 2021. Prior to this, they held various positions at Noble Network of Charter Schools from 2013 to 2020, including Dean of Instruction, Founding Instructional PD Facilitator, and 11th/12th Grade IB English Instructor. In these roles, they developed coaching tools, data tools, and coaching pathways to support teacher growth and student achievement. Janelle also provided intensive support to new or struggling instructors and originated the IB English curriculum. Before their time at Noble Network, Janelle served as a Leadership for Educational Equity Summer Fellow at the Illinois Department of Education in 2013. Janelle was also a Middle School English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher at Indiana Math and Science Academy North from 2010 to 2013, where they served as the 5th and 6th Grade Chair and mentored first-year teachers. Additionally, they worked as a Summer Conservatory Partner Instructor at Indiana Repertory Theatre in 2012. Janelle began their career as a 2010 Corps Member at Teach For America and also gained experience as an Education Intern at Kline Creek Farm within the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County from 2008 to 2009.

Janelle Jenkins received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History and English Literature from Taylor University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Janelle then pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Secondary Education at Marian University Indianapolis, graduating in 2012. Recently, in 2016-2017, they attended the Relay Graduate School of Education for the Instructional Leadership Professional Development Series.
