Amar Rao

Amar Rao has extensive work experience in software development and engineering leadership roles. Amar is currently the Group Director of Software Development at Thinkproject. Prior to this, they were an Engineering Leader at Derek Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. from December 2021 to February 2022. From 2020 to 2021, they served as the Senior Director of Engineering at Avalara India, where they led the integration of tax offerings with various ERP and ecommerce platforms. Before that, they held the position of Sr. Director of Product Development at Oracle from 2018 to 2020. Amar also has experience as the Sr. Director of Software Engineering at GE and as a Director of Product Development at Oracle. Amar began their career at Viant Inc. as a Tech Lead and has worked at various other companies including Infogix, Objective Arts Inc., and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

Amar Rao completed their B.E. in Telecommunication Engineering at B. M. S. College of Engineering from 1989 to 1993. Amar then went on to obtain their MS in Computer Science from George Mason University, studying from 1994 to 1996.
