Jim Lake has extensive work experience in the field of litigation, media, trademark, and copyright law. Jim started their career as an intern at ABC News 4 | WCIV-TV in 1987 and later interned at The Post and Courier in 1988. In 1989, they worked as an intern at the City of Charleston. Jim then joined The Tampa Tribune as a reporter from 1990 to 1991. Jim then worked at Holland & Knight LLP as a litigation, media, trademark, and copyright lawyer from 1994 to 2006. Following this, Jim served as an Adjunct Professor at Stetson University College of Law from 2000 to 2016. Currently, they are working at Thomas & LoCicero PL as a litigation, media, trademark, and copyright lawyer.
Jim Lake completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law between 1991 and 1994. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from Washington and Lee University from 1986 to 1990. In addition to their education, Jim also obtained certifications from the Florida Bar, U.S. District Courts in Florida, U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court.
