Gerry Christian

Gerry Christian has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Gerry is currently serving as the EVP, Chief Information Technology Officer at Thomas Scientific since February 2021. Previously, from September 2019 to January 2021, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at CAPA The Global Education Network. Prior to that, they were self-employed, serving as a Board Member/Executive Consultant from July 2018 to January 2021.

Gerry Christian's longest tenure was at VWR, part of Avantor, where they held various executive roles. From 2016 to 2018, they served as the Executive Vice President, Global Business Services & CIO, leading the establishment of a new organization called Globally Integrated Business Services (GIBS). During their tenure, GIBS enabled an integrated, efficient, and streamlined customer experience. Before that, from 2012 to 2016, they were the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, where they restructured the IT organization and developed strategic relationships to transform the company's IT strategy. Gerry also led the successful SAP ERP integration for VWR North America. Additionally, they held several roles with VWR from 1993 to 2003, including President of Ward's Natural Science and Vice President of Science Kit, Inc.

Prior to their time at VWR, Gerry Christian worked at KPMG as a Senior Accountant from 1990 to 1993.

Throughout their career, Gerry Christian has demonstrated expertise in IT leadership, operational management, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and restructuring.

Gerry Christian has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance, General from Buffalo State University, which they obtained in 1997. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Canisius College in 1990. In addition to their degrees, Gerry Christian also holds a certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), which was obtained in 1992 from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. However, it should be noted that their CPA certification is currently inactive.
