Kathleen Dunagin

Director, Research & Knowledge Management at Thompson Coburn

From her more than a decade of work supporting legal research and writing at corporate law firms, Kathy knows the role of the traditional law librarian is transforming and expanding in important ways.

Today, in addition to assisting attorneys with legal research and managing the firm's extensive print and electronic collections, Thompson Coburn's law librarians monitor clients, market trends, and regulatory issues and curate dozens of customized daily news e-mails; perform topic research for attorney blogs, newsletters, firm websites and other media; and assist with key research for marketing and business development efforts.

In her position as Director of Research and Knowledge Management, Kathy coordinates the acquisition of the firm's legal resources and manages instructional services for computer-assisted legal research. She directs a staff of talented professional librarians who provide reference assistance for the firm's client matters, as well as business and competitive research to enhance overall firm services.
