Carmel Crimmins

Carmel Crimmins serves as the Host of Reuters Econ World at Thomson Reuters, a position held since May 2024. Prior to this role, Carmel was the Specialist Editor for Top News at Reuters from January 2019 to May 2024. Carmel's extensive experience at Thomson Reuters includes positions such as Global Desk Editor for Business, Finance and Markets, and Financial Services Editor for the Americas, among others. Carmel has also held the title of Chief Correspondent in Ireland, where leadership in covering significant financial crises was key. Additionally, Carmel served as Deputy Bureau Chief in the Philippines, managing coverage of complex regional issues. Academic credentials include an MSc in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a first-class honors BA in Economics and Political Science from Trinity College Dublin.
