Doreen Miao

Doreen Miao has extensive experience in business development and management roles. Doreen is currently the Director of Business Development North America at THORASYS Thoracic Medical Systems Inc. Since 2023. Previously, they worked as a Business Director at ANANDA Devices from 2020 to 2022, where they led the commercialization efforts for deep-tech Human Organ On-a-Chip technology. Doreen also managed internal and external company scale up and process establishment efforts, and guided new product development. Before that, they served as a Business Development Manager at The Rounds from 2019 to 2020 and as an Account Manager at TANK Worldwide from 2017 to 2019. Doreen started their career as a Business Development Analyst at Knight Therapeutics Inc. from 2014 to 2017.

Doreen Miao has a diverse education history. Doreen obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University. Additionally, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business. Furthermore, they hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from the University of Guelph, majoring in Molecular Biology and Genetics, as well as Music. Doreen Miao has also obtained several certifications, including "Negotiation Mastery" from the Harvard Business School Online in April 2022 and "SQL for Data Science Certificate" from UC Davids on Coursera in June 2019.
