Georgina has fourteen years of management and leadership experience, first as Exhibitions Director, and then as Managing Director, of the Mizel Museum in Denver. In both roles, Georgina’s priority was to offer creative strategies that grew the museum’s impact while also ensuring that programs were accessible to various audiences and aligned to mission-critical current events.
As director of exhibits she developed and orchestrated over a dozen major exhibitions from concept design, to script writing, to developing and overseeing project timelines, to developing compelling marketing materials, to planning and managing opening events. As managing director she oversaw museum operations, developed community programs, generated and implemented outreach strategies, and led the museum staff.
As the face of the museum, Georgina developed programmatic collaborations with partner organizations and established enduring relationships with area teachers and administrators, expanding the museum’s client base.
Georgina is an active member of Denver’s art and culture world. She served on the Board of Directors of Culturehaus of the Denver Art Museum, and was an art selection committee member for Denver International Airport, in addition to several other public art projects around Denver. She feels passionate about amplifying the voices of individuals, organizations, and institutions working for social justice and change.
She holds an MA in Art History from the University of Colorado Boulder (CU), and a BA in Psychology and a BA in Art History, also from CU. Outside of work, Georgina enjoys the outdoors, exploring new places, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
