Jim Gumbley

Jim Gumbley is an experienced professional in leadership, technology delivery, and cybersecurity advisory, serving as Business Information Security Officer and Technical Principal at Thoughtworks since August 2012. In this role, Jim is the global head of practice for cybersecurity, developing thought leadership and collaborating on technology strategy for clients in various sectors including public, finance, energy, and healthcare. Additionally, as Chapter Lead for the OWASP Foundation since March 2019, Jim organizes community events to strengthen the cybersecurity network in Birmingham, UK. Previous roles include Software Developer and Production Engineer at 3M from 2008 to 2012, where Jim contributed to healthcare systems, and Network and Endpoint Specialist at Sytner Group from 2005 to 2008, leading strategic projects across multiple sites. Jim holds a BA in Economics & Philosophy from The University of Sheffield and has education from Copenhagen Business School and St Andrews C of E First School in Worcestershire.
