John Voris

John Voris has over twenty-five years of experience in the technology industry. John is currently an advisor at thredUP, and has previously served on the ecommerce advisory board at FedEx, as well as in strategic and leadership roles at SpaceX, Shipwire, Netflix, and Shutterfly.

John's career began in 1992 as an operations engineering consultant at Cisco. John quickly rose through the ranks, becoming director of automation at Shutterfly in 1999 and vice president of operations engineering at Netflix in 2007. As vice president, John built and managed teams that developed software and automation solutions to improve service levels and lower costs. John also served as chief systems officer for Qwikster, overseeing the separation of DVD logistics and finance systems from Netflix.

In 2012, John left Netflix to join SpaceX as VP of manufacturing engineering. In this role, they were responsible for leading the team that manufactured space vehicles and components. After a year at SpaceX, John transitioned to thredUP, where they have served as a strategic advisor for the past eight years. In their current role at thredUP, John provides advice and guidance on a variety of topics including product development, business strategy, and organizational design.

John Voris has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. Their concentration is in Operations Research.
