Joel Atkins

Joel Atkins is an accomplished actuary and data science professional with extensive experience in the insurance industry. Currently serving as an Actuary at THREE Insurance since December 2023, Joel previously worked as a Contractor at Frankenmuth Insurance, where contributions included reviewing modeling processes and building a Worker’s Compensation pricing model. Joel's prior role as AVP of Data Science at CNA Insurance involved managing a team of five data scientists and overseeing relationships and projects. At Zurich Financial Services, Joel held the position of Actuarial Director I, leading a team to develop pricing models and a risk identification prospecting model. Earlier in the career at Allstate Insurance, Joel contributed to the Catastrophe Exposure Management Task Force, advising senior management on mitigating exposure risks. Academic credentials include a PhD in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Mathematics from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
