Sean MacCarthy

Sean MacCarthy has a diverse work experience spanning a range of industries and roles. Sean has worked as a Marketing Director at Guided Marketing Services since 2020, where they develop marketing plans for clients in outdoor recreation, hospitality, brewing, cannabis, and more. Prior to this, they held the same position at Three Rivers Whitewater from 2018, where they also shot and edited films for social media and guided whitewater rafting trips.

From 2016 to 2018, Sean served as the Sales and Marketing Coordinator at Utila Lodge. Before that, they were a Marketing Intern Coordinator at Three Rivers Whitewater from 2014 to 2016, where they also guided whitewater rafting trips and spearheaded sales initiatives.

In 2015, Sean volunteered as a Long Term Volunteer at Esperanza International in Tijuana, Mexico, where they built homes, acted as a liaison between volunteer groups and communities, and supervised construction tasks.

In 2013, they worked as an Account Manager at NEC International, conducting business to business sales and generating over $18,100 in sales. In 2012, they served as the Head of Advertising/Recruitment for the Feinstein Institute's Alternative Spring Break Program, promoting the program and managing applicant information.

Sean started their career as an Assistant Manager at Mangia Neapolitan Pizza from 2011 to 2013, where they served customers, trained new employees, and provided leadership in problem-solving.

Sean MacCarthy completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Marketing from Providence College from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they attended Cohasset High School from 2006 to 2010, where they served as the Senior Class President. In addition to their educational background, Sean MacCarthy obtained several certifications, including PADI Divemaster from PADI in March 2018, Level II Whitewater Guide from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in June 2014, and Wilderness First Responder from SOLO Wilderness Medical School in November 2020.
