Mike Ward

Mike Ward is the CEO and co-founder of ThriftBooks. Mike has a long history in the tech industry, starting as a webmaster in 1999. Mike then became a system architect and developer at Wasatch Advisors from 2005 to 2007. In 2007, they co-founded ThriftBooks with David Sorenson.

Ward has always been passionate about music. Mike was a ski instructor in Snowbird, UT from 1996 to 1998 and played in various bands from 1993 to 1999. In 2001, they founded Vacationpix, a company that took photos of tourists at various vacation spots around the world. Mike ran the company until 2004 when they sold it to focus on ThriftBooks full time.

Under Ward's leadership, ThriftBooks has become one of the largest online used booksellers in the world. The company has over 300 employees and operates in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Mike Ward's educational career includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah and a field in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
