Katherine Jinyi Li

Katherine Jinyi Li has over eight years of work experience in the fields of video production, journalism, and social media. In 2017, they began working as a Video Producer, Editor, Shooter, and Host for Thrillist. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Video Journalist and Community Teaching Artist for UNAS Heliópolis, a Staff Writer for plus55 - News from Brazil, a Documentary Journalist for Keep In News, a Text/Video Intern for Agence France Presse, and a Journalism and Justice Intern for Conectas. In 2014, they also served as a 2014 Open Society Fellow, researching and compiling social media evidence of police violence and repression of the anti-2014 World Cup protests. In 2012, they worked as a Video & Social Media Assistant for the Center for the Study of Race, Politics, and Culture, and as a Human Rights Journalism Intern for France terre d'asile.

Katherine Jinyi Li obtained a Master's degree in Journalism and International Affairs from Sciences Po in 2015, following their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Public Policy and History from the University of Chicago in 2013.
