Todd Richmond is President of Peregrine Surgical, a developer and manufacturer of ophthalmic surgery devices. He joined the company in 1997, after learning the basics of the industry as a medical device sales representative after college. Todd’s initial role at Peregrine included assembly, product development, and international sales, which provided him with the technical skills and business acumen to confidently settle into the role of president in 2012. Maintaining a strong connection to his formative roots as an assembler, Todd now drives product and business development for Peregrine, which is the true heart and soul of the company.
With 15+ years of product development experience in his professional career, Todd is the holder of one published and three pending patents — all of which he accomplished with no formal training in medical device development. This innovative spirit and deep knowledge of the medical device industry has landed him on the advisory board of several companies: Peregrine; Thrombolex, a Doylestown-based manufacturer of catheter-based surgical devices that treat acute venous thromboembolic disorders; and Oliver, a New Britain-based medical device packaging company.
