Xiuming Zhu

Xiuming Zhu is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in leading transformative projects, particularly in AI applications. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Thumbtack since June 2021, Xiuming Zhu has spearheaded initiatives enhancing business functions through the use of large language models. Previously, Xiuming Zhu worked at Walmart eCommerce as a Principal Software Engineer, focusing on a unified real-time machine learning platform, and at Walmart Labs in various engineering roles contributing to online advertising systems and trust and safety platforms. Early career experiences include positions at Amazon in information security, research at the University of Texas at Austin, and roles at Emerson Process Management and Siemens Healthcare in process control and automation testing. Xiuming Zhu holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin and advanced degrees in Pattern Recognition and Computer Science from Tongji University.
