Leanne Mercer

Leanne Mercer is an experienced Genetic Counsellor with a strong background in providing genetic counseling across various health organizations. Currently employed at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre since April 2016, Leanne focuses on genetic conditions, prenatal counseling, and co-counseling with medical geneticists. Prior experience includes work at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, where responsibilities included preparing patient files, arranging genetic tests, and participating in genetic testing eligibility rounds. Leanne also coordinated a prenatal service at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, provided counseling at Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and served as a Cancer Genetic Counsellor at Kingston General Hospital. Leanne holds a Master of Science in Genetic Counselling from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics from the University of Guelph.
